It took me reading 3 paragraphs when I remembered the date and realized this had to be your April Fool's on us. Good one, Cale. But I must admit, I still don't get the reference to 5/23.

I enjoyed the whole article.

Haha! You got me! I worked in the cosmetic industry in the late 80's through the 90's when another designer, Claude Montana, developed a fragrance that contained the essence of leather. So yes, I believed your post. Good one!

You got me! Good choice, Commes des Garçons - she is so OUT THERE. Well done, sir, and can’t wait ‘til next year! You’ve set the bar pretty high.

This is hysterical. You have a true gift for writing fiction! Commes des Garcons - priceless!

So here is some new fodder for your consideration. My husband and I are following AI developments and recently had a discussion about whether robots, using generative AI, would be able to sew just about anything. It is easy for me to imagine robots doing repetitive, familiar sewing tasks but what about the job of sewing, say, a fine silk gown with delicate detail? Thoughts?

I was completely taken in by this story and could picture your customer, the machines, the beard clippings. I was three-quarters done when I thought “oh, no, this was written yesterday!”! I was ready to buy some perfume (or at least eau de toilette) for my sewing studio!

Wonderfully written, thank you so much for the fanciful escape while I had my morning tea.
