Don’t forget Ithaca Maven, written by the creator of the top-down center-out method of fitting trousers.

Thank you for promoting them. I’m sure there are many more. I’ve just signed onto Substack and reading others’ publications, and generally finding my way around the platform. I’ve been blogging about sewing on the Wordpress platform (seweverythingblog.com) for 12 years now, and will soon figure out Substack! So far, loving this community.

You're right, it would be fantastic if Substack were to add sections such as "Hobbies/Crafts" to the Substack ecosystem. There are many wonderful illustrators that have flourished here, and hopefully crafts are a section that will flourish too. I've been writing my cross stitch newsletter on here for a while, and I really appreciate the pace and atmosphere of Substack and Substack-ers (I hope that's a word!).

I totally agree. I hope the Substack powers that be will give us a separate category. Please listen to us Substack!

My Substack, Creatures and Characters, is all about making stuffed toys. It's aimed at the general reader rather than just the sewist, though, and attempts to shed light on how I make things without getting too technical. I started it as a way to share my projects with my friends. Mostly I feature items made with commercial and indie patterns, but I will be designing my own more and more. https://creaturesandcharacters.substack.com/. Thank you for letting me mention it. And thank you for your most helpful Substack!

I am happy to see I already follow most of your recommendations. Also just recently found Ms. Oni. Really enjoying her posts as I attempt to sew some shorts/pants.

Many thanks indeed for mentioning my newsletter, and the introductions to more sewing writers. There were hardly any when I first came to Substack, and only a handful of fashion ones.

I love reading your sewing machine newsletter.

Late to the party but I must say, The Bulletin Board by Chelsea Carson of Daughter Judy Patterns is phenom 👌✨ so informative, interesting, varied. She was the reason I joined Substack and now my world has opened up to so many more, and I’m so very happy about it ♥️

Any quilters out there? I do a weeklyfree Substack called The Joy of Handwork and talk about using old fashioned handwork skills (hand piecing, hand quilting, hand embroidery) in new contemporary ways. I also throw in my opinions about the quilting world in general. If a topic comes up, believe me I have an opinion about it.
